1. What is a Symbiotik Wall?
A Symbiotik Wall is a natural, cooperative relationship we have created between man-made structures (walls) and nature (plants). Our proprietary systems incorporate patented technologies that give plants the ability to thrive in both outdoor and indoor vertical structures.
2. How does a Symbiotik Walls vertical garden work?
Different types of plants are integrated into a synthetic media that is attached to a PVC surface. The PVC surface acts as the barrier between the actual wall and the plants. As water and nutrients flow through our patented irrigation systems, they help plants grow, creating a thriving ecosystem on top of the walls. Water is captured at the bottom of the wall and it is successfully drained out. At no point water does escape to floors or surrounding walls.
3. How can a Symbiotik Walls vertical habitat grow without soil?
Our living walls simulate nature. All plants need to thrive are nutrients and water. Our exclusive hydroponic system is specialized in giving plants a steady diet of what they need so they can succeed as if they were in a tropical rainforest.
4. Is there a size limitation to the green walls?
No. Our living walls come in all different sizes. There are examples of our walls built to staggering heights such as 120 feet.
5. How are the plants irrigated?
A special mixture of nutrients and PH balanced water flows down the synthetic media where the plants reside. The plants absorb this mixture through their roots which are intertwined with one another. These timed irrigation cycles give the plants everything they need to flourish into a thriving ecosystem.
6. What kind & how much light do I need for my living wall?
As part of the initial consultation process we take into consideration how long and in what direction the plants will be exposed to natural sunlight. Based on those parameters, plant selection is recommended. Indoor walls will have artificial light and different lumens will be used throughout the wall.
7. What plant species are used in a Symbiotik Walls vertical garden?
Part of our success is incorporating native species into our green walls. We don't introduce foreign plants or force nature where it cannot occur. Although we are located in South Florida, where a large number of tropical plant species grow, we have the capabilities to work in any environment throughout the United States.
8. How much does a Symbiotik Walls vertical landscape cost?
There are different factors to take into consideration when estimating the cost of designing, developing and installing a living wall. Some of those factors include location and size. In our initial consultation we first assess the feasibility of the project and then provide a price range for your wall.
9. How much maintenance is needed for a living wall?
Our green walls grow into robust ecosystems in short periods of time, so localized trimming is recommended at least once every 3 months.
